String Telephones

Year 3/4 have been finishing their science topic about science and we have been making cup and string telephones to investigate how sound changes over a distance. We discussed how the sound waves and vibrations travel through the cup, along the string (we found out that the string had to be tight for the vibrations to travel along it), into the second cup and then finally, into our partner's ear.
