Viking Valkyries Poem

Year 6 explored new vocabulary this week in a richly descriptive poem about the mysterious Viking Valkyries. The children worked in groups to explore the poem and its meaning, thinking in particular about the impression we are given of characters through a poet's vocabulary choices. The discussion the children had together was interesting, purposeful and full of insight.
