Y5 & Y6 Science

This week in science, the year 5 and 6 classes have been investigating absorption and permeability. They conducted their own experiments using sugar cubes and coloured water to test the rate of absorption in different ways. The year 5 children were testing whether different materials were permeable or not and whether they would allow the water to be absorbed into the sugar cubes. Year 6 were challenged to design their own experiment about absorption using sugar cubes. They were given the choice of investigating how absorption is affected by the amount of sugar cubes, the amout of water or like year 5, permeable and non permeable materials. They had great fun!
